History of Wheelchair Tennis
The International Wheelchair Tennis Foundation (IWTF) was introduced in 1988 with only eight members, after great effort to introduce this sport to the world on an international level. Although tennis had been played in wheelchairs before the development of the IWTF, Brad Parks first realized the potential of this sport in 1976. After news of this new sport began to become known across the world, Brad was invited to numerous countries overseas to help start new wheelchair tennis programs.
